I've heard about disk read errors with the playstation 2's and I've found many tutorials on opening the playstation and adjusting the white cog. The white cog changes the angle of the laser to the disk and sometimes when it's moved disk read errors occur. When testing the settings after each turn of the cog I tested a blue sided dvd, movie dvd and a siler sided dvd. I could get a blue sided dvd and movies to work but I couldn't get the right setting for the silver dvds (Back up games or originals). Tried many combinations.. was just curious whether or not:

A) I just ain't found the right combination with the white clog

B) Something could be wrong with the laser and it won't play silver sided games.. (Back up or original)

C) Another fix to this solution?!

Any ideas anyone? I've also cleaned the laser with a cotton bud and metho spirits..
