Error booting many backups

Hi, I'm a little new to booting ps2 backups but I think I have a decent understanding.
I am getting an error with many of my backups.
I use Swap Magic 3.0 and a Flip top case to do this but on many of my backups I get the blue border for swap magic when loading but the screen goes black and won't load the game. Some games get to a loading screen and just get stuck there. Is there some way to work around this or am I doing something wrong?

Oh yeah, I used DVD Decripter for my Backups in case that makes a difference

What kind of PS2 do you have and what kind of DVD's are you using...

Unless the games on CD don't work properly...

I have a US PS2 NTSC (or whatever that abbreviation is) version 4. I'm using DVD-R that are kind of generic but some games do run with them
