I got PAL WII, and i tried both BBSS PAL rlss - WIIERD and WIILEET

but both give me a black screen without any error msgs, i burned on various dvd's ,

What can i do? (SMG works fine on my WII - I got a PAL Wii 3.2e with d2pro mod)

You can try DVD Identifier (free) and see what it says.

Everything from the Imgburn info though does show them as being 16x +R Verbs. The media id code from Verb dual begins with MKM.

Where'd you get them? I'd consider returning them.

Here's some info on the TOC error - it's error # **035700 - link
Finnally just got it working. Burned and verified the disk :)
Game works in the wii!

Just a general question about the game.. Using the wiiremote it has to be used sideways? even in the menu It won't let me just point and click A. I thought it was broken at first until I realized I had to use the directional and the 2 button. Is that how it's supposed to be?

Thanks for the help.

EDIT:

Nevermind, I found a website with the controls.

If anyone else needs help with the controls here they are...

hxxp://www.smashbros.com/en_us/howto/basic/basic07.html
What did you do? I have the same LG drive and got the same kind of problems. I have also updated the firmware.
Is it because of the Verbatim disc? I don't want to buy them because they are only available in a big spindle and for a expensive price around here. But if that was the trick... then it's maybe worth trying it.

Ok I need some help here. I didn't realize this was a problem until now. You see I updated my wii (well it said it got updated) to 1.9s and yet when I played SSBB I still got the #001 error. So I assumed that only a trucha signed SSBB would work, which did work. I think the fact taht the wiikey didn't update was the quality of my media.

I would burn an update disk(on a DVD-R), and would immediately have to put it in the wii to make it work and it would only work once if I took the disk out and put it back in the wii would run the disk and restart.
All the games would work though (which I burned on a DVD+R).

The media I used was Playo a pretty cruddy sounding brand.
Oh Yeah and I used Memorex DVD+R DL burned at 2.4x for SSBB.

I am going to buy a pack of Verbatim dvd's both + and - R. Would this solve it? I was mainly worried about the 3.3U update stopping my SSBB and the newer games forcing me to update.

I know this is kinda long but bear with it and thanks ahead of time.

I got both the PAL and NTSC for ssbb. Wiikey updated to 1.9g and wii to 3.3E.

NTSC loads fine but the game is extremely slow and the whole screen shake throughout the whole game.

PAL I burnt it with 3 disc verbatim and datawrite at 2.4x. It only loads 2 secs intro and says game disc could not be read. Tried with auto layer break and also set at 2084960 using newest imgburn shows no error.

Could this be the lense dirty? But it works for my NTSC and it reads the disc.

Hi I noticed people saying that a rip of SSBB should be 8,511,160,320 bytes. Well I have ripped my own bought copy Pal version of SSBB using friidump 5 times and each time the file comes out exactly 7.89 GB (8,482,783,232 bytes) or 8,283,968kb. The burn works perfectly so I am confused, which size is correct and how come I got a perfect rip from a smaller size.

Note this is not a downloaded version it is an Australian Store bought never used owned copy.

Any suggestions

I just read a note on Wikipedia of all places about scrambled and unscrambled files and it appears that scrambling or unscrambling adds more size to a file

http://wiki.nintendo-scene.com/index.php?title=Wii_Disc_Backup

perhaps thats the root of the different sizes ??

If you have the PAL wii why dont you just use the PAL rip of the game? Assuming that you actually own the game to back up this should be no problem. Make sure you dont install the update from the NTSC smash bros as it could muck things up for you

Well i have a PAL wii, and PAL SSBB that i RIPPED from my friends ORIGINAL disk that he bought. I get the Error #001 - so it's not so straight forward.

I used both Imgburn and nero 8, slow burn speed and I am using Verbatim -R DL, and the iso is fine. I am using wiikey, updated to 1.9s as well but as i understand it, i do not need to use the layer break with wiikey updated.

So, anyone know why i am getting this error 001 when the real original disk played on my wii fine?

I dont support what your doing (but not going into that on this thread as it would be completely off topic). BUT try +R DL discs.

Also the error #001 means (and all i did was search in the forums for it) you could either be using bad media (the lasers on the wii are picky with dual layer discs) Their is a problem with the rip (check to see how many bytes it is and compare it with a propper game) Check the layer break (make sure its set correctly) And most importantly make sure you have the update installed for the chip your using. The error code of this kind is generally associated with bad media though. Try using a good quality +R DL . That should fix the problem. Read through other posts to find what type of media other people are using to figure out whats good.

Now I'm off back to my moral house.

Well I don't I have the us version so no point in throwing that away when it has a chance of working.... also do i need a freeloader as I thought wiikey can play all region games.

I googled the question you asked and it was answered on the first hit. As far as i can see you need to download a patch for your american game and then patch the ISO. I've had no experience in doing this so can't help. Google is your friend.

Also the other way of playing it is using a free loader, but again, not sure how this works.

Also think that the chip may now support region unlocking but cant say for sure.

Sorry i cant help.
