hey,dmsbiz
(don't know what other software you have if any)
i would try using DVDShrink and DVDDecrypter together, they have worked well together
for me.
try using DVDShrink first then use DVDDecrypter to burn to your ISO files to your folder you want.
they will work together.
there's also the Nero programs.

Your question has nothing to do with this thread. If you have a question then start your own thread (and in the correct forum, I had to move another one of your posts).

Hello ,
I downloaded DVD Decrypter and figured how to make it work(quite easy). The DVD which iam trying to burn has 2 layers which would mean I cannot burn it to a single disk. So , if I use DVD Shrink and remove the extras and bring it down to 4.6 G , can I simply use DVD Decrypter to burn it? what kind of file will i get if i use DVD Shrink?
thanks.

Shrink can use Decrypter's burning engine to burn the disc, after shrinking of course, without having to open Decrypter. After removing the extras select the Backup! button then under "Select backup target" choose "ISO image file and burn with DVD Decrypter" :)

I feel like a complete idiot, my laptop is a CD-RW not a DVD -RW! So back to square one, I have to figure out the SVCD/AVI ripping !! At least I know how the decrypter/shrinker works :-)

Yeah a DVD burner is a pretty important prerequisite :)

Hi there dmsbiz welcome to aD,
I'm sorry that nobody answered your question let me see if I may help -
Before you rip, I always like to create a folder for your work on your desktop OR somewhere on your HD where you can find it again. - Name it something that you'll be able to find. I named mine C:\All My DVD Work\Sleeping Beauty Kills Bill, needs Anger Management.
Now go ahead and rip with DVD Decrypter and use that folder as your destination. you'll have a group of files, they are your IFO, BUP and VOB files. - make a folder called VIDEO_TS and gather all those files and put them into that folder. Again, make sure they are in a folder named VIDEO_TS written like that (all in Caps) - some programs like DVD Shrink will make the properly named folder for you, others you must make the folder yourself.
Most proggys need that folder of else they won't accept the files at all. Open Shrink and choose "Open Files" find your folder and pick it up with Shrink then process however you wish then burn to disc.
Here are some more tips -
HINT: If you are going to burn with DVD Decrypter, DON'T FORGET TO - go back to DVD Decrypter after ripping, to reset the "Mode" from "ISO - Read" to "ISO - Write".
IMPORTANT: In DVD Decrypter, go to "Tools, Settings", go to the "I/O" tab and in the bottom right-hand side "tick" "Ignore Read Errors," this is an excellent setting for dealing with scratched disc which may cause ripping problems.
If you need anymore help come on back and we'll try to get you some specific answers -
Cheers,
Pete
