Problem with .avi files

Any media player I use will not correctly playback large .avi files. I get sound, but no video. At first I thought it was my video card, but even larger .mpeg files play fine. What's the problem? Can I do anything besides converting them to .mpeg?

EDIT: I've installed the codecs FourCC showed me as well.

Sounds like you dont have the right codecs installed. What exactly did you install and what versions? Use GSpot to see what codecs the file was encoded with.
