I access the net through a campus network, and they have imposed a bandwidth cap on many of the ports, though I can get very good downloads though HTTP, FTP and a few of the other standard application ports. Infact I also get excellent download speeds when I transfer files through any of the Instant messengers.
Because of the B/W cap, I get real slow downloads on p2p utilities like kazaa, winmx, etc.
What do you suggest I do to get around this problem ?

I have the exact problem..I live on campus and i can download at outrageously fast speeds from a http(website) however with winmx, kazaa, or any other file sharing program it is slow as hell...I NEED HELP...i have no idea what it is..I think before with my 56k i could download faster. I checked my web speed at one of those internet sites, and it measured download speeds at almost 1meg per second, which is pretty dam fast, however when i download from a site, it is around 1kbps...What can i do?
