Would a PS2 game backed up using Nero work with slide card & swap magic combo instead of buying a modchip and paying for the installation.

Yes. Thats what I use.

Well, now I only need the Swap Magic discs cause Ive had my PSTwo :)

But yes, SM and slide card will work on v1-12 ps2's.
