Hi guys

newbie to this so please bear with me.have downloaded a divx file which I need to convert to DVD format. I have used a guide to converting but after following the guide and starting the conversion TMPGEnc reports that it will take 30+ hours to complete....!!

My pc spec is Athlon 2100+ 1.ogb ram 7200rpm HDD etc, I converted another file using the same guide previously but this had been converted from Divx to MPeg..? This only took 8 hours,am I missing something basic or can someone please point me in the right direction.

Regards

Smiffy

Strange. Are you sure the codec is the latest release? I managed to convert a DivX AVI into MPEG-1 with an old Pentium III with TMPGenc's motion search precision = highest quality (very slow) in less than 10 hrs!!

And remember: it the original .AVI's quality is 400x300 a DVD MPEG-2 won't have a much better quality than a Video-CD MPEG-1 (352x240)!
