Hello,

I have a strange problem with the audio stream in the DVD ripping process :

1. I try to rip a DVD zone 2 (my drive is set on zone 1)
2. I use DVD Decrypter 3.5.1.0
3. I ripped VTS_01_1.VOB on my HD : OK
4. I use then VirtualDubMod (1.5.10) to open VTS_01_1.VOB

Then I see a problem because the length of my video stream
does not match the length of my audio stream.

So I tried following operations :

1. Change frame rate in VirtualDubMod to match audio stream length

Result : Failure. A/V desynch. looks more like beginning of audio
track is missing.

2. Try to demux AC3 audio stream from VTS_01_1.VOB (from HD) with
different tools, so I can check if the problem comes from VirtualDubMod
and the way he reads the audio stream from the VOB file.

Result : All the tools used produced the same AC3 file size

3. Try to demux AC3 audio stream directly from the DVD with DVD Decrypter

Result : same than before

4. Try to encode to DivX AVI the whole VOB file (from HD) with Dr. DivX

Result : Dr. DivX does not find the audio stream at all ! Acts like there
is NO audio stream in the VOB file !

So at this point it may look like the problem comes from DVD Decrypter,
who does not get the whole audio stream or corrupts it in some way ...

But another test I done is very surprising : I tried to convert to DivX
AVI my VOB file (from HD) with "Max DVD to AVI 3.0" software and this just
worked fine. A/V streams are perfectly synchronized (they surely are
the same length for this).

So do you see an explanation to all this ?
