dvd movie backups not working

I just got my Swap Magic Discs today. To test to see if it actually works, I tried out my DVD backups before I burned any games. Anyways the media that the DVD movies are on are TDK DVD-R 4x. Should I burn a game and see if it works or are these DVD-Rs media just hopeless.

I have a v4 PS2.

Swap Magic is not needed to start DVD movie backups. Just put the backup in the drive and the browser will recognize it as a movie disc and play it.

Already tried playin the DVD backup with that same media before I even got Swap Magic and it didnt work. "Disc Read Error" came up.

Burning a game right now on that TDK media. Just hope it doesnt turn out to be a coaster.

If the movie you burned didn't work your media and/or the speed you burn at is likely an issue. The PS2 plays backup movies without any modifications required.

Nice!, the game works. I burned everything the same way too (4x speed, w/decrypter). Phew, thought all these DVD-Rs were going to go to waste. Well I thankyou for atleast replyin.

hmm, have you tried your movie backup dvd's in a normal dvd player or computer? See if they play in one of those, if not, you're burnin' em incorrectly.

Also, you do know that burning dvd movie backups is different than burning ps2 game backups right?

the dvd movie backups work perfectly fine on my dvd player, just not my ps2.

i think its just that my ps2 v4 is too old with a weak laser. i even tried playing the matrix reloaded movie on it once without swap magic and it didnt work.

and no i didnt know that burning dvd movies was different from burning ps2 games.
