Windows XP region limit

My DVD rom is a LG 8120b already with the 1e05 flash, region free. The region info 2.2 says it is region free but windows xp pro says I can´t change regions anymore. How to correct this?

I've observed that various flavours of Windows lie about this -- try just ignoring it.
