4x burn at 8x on plextor 708a

I am using Nero Ultra 6.6 with latest update and burning on a 4x +r ritek disc.

Nero shows burning at 8x but it takes the same amount of time as on a 4x -r. It should take half that time.

Does anyone know what is wrong?

Nero is probably reconizeing the media as a G05 instead of the G04 it is meant to be.I would not worry it will not effect your burn and happens from time to time.

I don't know what a GO5 or GO4 is. But if I understand what you are saying, it may happen occasionaly.

I burned 3 copies of the same dvd and they all took the same amount of time, 2 +r and 1 -r.

Is there anything I can do?

G04 means 4 speed and G05 is 8 speed.You could try a different media.Have a look on the web site of the maker of your writer to find out the best performance media for your writer.Some media will only burn at certain speeds on certain burners.All depends on how conpatible the media is with the burner.
