HD Advance compatible with HD Loader?

Hey guys. New here. Anyways, I've been using the HD Loader for a while now, and I was just wondering if the installed HD Loader games are gonna be compatible with the HD Advance disc. The thing is, I have to give my friend back his HD Loader, and I can't find a legit copy of HD Loader, so I don't want to take a chance at getting another bogus copy of the HD Loader. I'm gonna get an HD Advance, but it'll be a real bum to have to format my HDD and lose everything. Anyone know if it's compatible or not? Thanks.
