hello I recently purchased the US HDD for ps2 and have been trying to use it with my chipped european ps2

but as i have heard the HDD detects the chip and disables it self :( so the only way i can access the HDD is to disable the chip but the only way i can Install the HDD is to have it activated (to load the NTSC utility disc)

I have a Ripper 2 gold chip if this helps

basically i was owndering if thetre is any way at all (save buying a ntsc ps2) to get it working?

also - id any of you have to install the HDD when you got yours or does it just come up automatically?

I have read that i can buy an un-offical hdd and use it with the ps2 - i am thinking of getting this one. . .
