DVD decrypter will not let me burn at x1. My new TDK go2 says x1-x8 but it always reverts to x2. My old media optodisc also reverted to x2.

My burner is an NEC ad2500, so I'm wondering if there is that big a tiem difference between x1 and x2. On average a game say bt 4gb takes 30-40 minutes at x2.

to write a full dvd disc at:-
4x = 15 min approx
2x = 30 min approx
1x = 60 min approx

Is there any way to get my burner to write at x1? As my media says x1 - x8 but reverts to x2. An hour, hat would iron out some errors... I wish I could burn at x1 :(

does your writer support 1x writing with that media is the question and i burn all my backups a 2x on 4x media

You mean the burner supports different right speeds for different Media? The media I use says x1-x8, so I guess I can't right at 1x with that media then :( . Not to worry, It's only made one bad burn that was Headhunter redemption but I burnt it again at the same speed and it worked like a charm. The ratchet and clank one I made where the sound skipped... another boot would have fixed that. But where can I find out the spec of my drive? I dnt have any documentation for it.

you could try looking it up at the manufactures web site or get your self a program something like dvd info pro it will tell you more info about your drive and media etc than you will probably ever want to know
