Greetings DVD'ers....

Now that the "hooking up" of the hardware problem has been solved by purchasing the exact cable for the DV camcorder to use it as a analogue to digital convertor (Sony iLink VMC-IL4615), I now have a problem with adjusting the data stream parameters (colour/contrast/gamma/etc) while displayed in the preview window of the three applications I am testing (Nero 6 oem Windows movie maker and Video Edit Magic 3.18).

In movie maker....there is no adjustment....

In Edit Magic.....there seems to be..."video settings" in the Tools menu of the preview window....but.....when selected.....it does nothing.....

Is this facility disabled in the evaluation copy ?????

In Nero 6....The facility in the preview window (wide screen TV icon) opens, to reveal a full set of sliders covering all the required adjustments.....but they don't work.....

Is this facility disabled because it is an oem version??????

If I select the camera using windows explorer....I get an exact representation of the source DV image......if I do the same in all three of the above applications, it requires gamma correction etc to correct it (because it burns the unmodified image). hence....the questions above.....before I decide which package (or full upgrade) to purchase.....if they cannot correct the input stream before recording.....then they are not acceptable.
