can someone please help me i am tryint to make a back up of the superman movie and i am using dvd shrink and at 53% it is failed to read the f:/
the request could not be performed because of an I/O device error

Is the disc clean and scratch free?
What happens if you rip the film with DVD Decrypter?

more than likely the original is defective. Try cleaning it with warm water and liquid hand soap. dry it with a lint free cloth...regards

That's why.
Try setting Decrytper to read at 1X or 2X and if that doesn't work set it ignore read errors. The only other option would be to find a rental shop that resurfaces discs, show 'em a little leg and hope they'll resurface it for you ;)
