I second Mr_Pink. Yes... with the new updated from VobBlanker 2130Beta4, I was able to blank/delete unwanted junks and save some spaces. Earlier versions of VobBlanker couldn't handle those craps (99 VTS) from Sony. I had to use DVDRemake Pro to delete some useless VTS and went back to VobBlanker 2.1.2.0, but now everything looks great.

VobBlanker 2130Beta4 http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=120140 <=== for those are interested.

NOTE: this is my 2nd backup (modified) via VobBlanker. My 1st backup is a "full disc" and I had to encode with DVD-RB Pro + CCE SP 2.70 via 3 PASSES VBR.

Best of luck to all and happy burning. Never give up guys, it's obvious that there are tons of genius out there, learn to use other tools and you'll be free of worries.

I tried most of the methods mentioned and the best I could get was a disc that wouldn't play. Ripit4me did not do it for me. Here's what I finally did to get a full disc copy. With AnyDVD 6.1.1.1 running in the background I ran it through VobBlanker 2.1.3.0 beta 4. I took the results and ran FixVTS 1.603. Used DVD Shrink and burned with Nero. I deleted all audio except the 5.1, but otherwise everything is there (all extras and menus). I did not use Clone DVD 2 because I don't like the results. DVD Shrink is slower, but I think it produces better results.

I was able to rip saw 3 w/ all extras with ripit4me, DVD Shrink and dvd decryptor and am watching it right now and so far so good. Thanks to the people who posted how they successfully ripped the movie. Before I tried to use Nero recode 2 and AnyDVD 6.1.0.7, that didn't work so I tried AnyDVD and dvdshrink which didn't work either.

Whoops.

I'm a newbie here at the forum, but not really to doing backups. I have tried most of the aforementioned methods with all the latest versions of programs, with no luck. Like some others, the best I came up with was a completed burn that would not play.

I have the Beta version of VobBlanker, used it, and when it reached VTS 7, it quit, saying that there was an error. I know that you'll want to know what it was, I just accidentally closed it in my frustration, so I'm running it again and will post later.

Needless to say, it would not complete the scan, so I'm out of luck again. What should I be doing that I'm not in order to make it work?

Aaaaarrrrggggghhhhhh!!!!

I want to thank all of you for your help. I downloaded the beta version AnyDVD1111. I used the newest version of Ripit4me, and VTSFix. Ran Ripit4me (1Click Mode), used CloneDVD2 (not most recent version); and was able to successfully rip the entire disk to backup my copy. Thanks Everyone. I love theis forum!!!

Gracias Amigos!

I knew you could get ripit4me to work I finally got it done this afternoon. Full disc. I did manage to get AnyDVD and ClovneDVD to work last night todo movie only. I think my impatience got the best of me with ripit4me. I finally just let it read slowly it got thru the disc. And I had known about the 99bad files last night from the AnyDVD info. This one was exciting.

Hi Everyone,
I'm almost finished backing up my Saw III DVD and this time I figured out how to get all the previews included in my burn.

http://www.ripit4me.org/guide.html

In wizard mode, just follow the instructions, but when you get to step 5 just click on the done button. Don't select the "Jump to first valid menu" option. This is great, once again, the process is a bit longer than using AnyDVD and clonedvd2 but it works and real well.

Thanks again for the excellent apps provided.

Regards,
Jay

i found an easy way to do it with AnyDVD 6107 and clonedvd2

just do it normally with menus if u want them, and when it shows u all the parts of the dvd, where u can remove them.. theres a few that make CloneDVD say its trying to correct the dvd, remove them, theres 4 total, 3 at the bottom and 1 in the middle...they are 0 seconds long and 115 long

What version of FixVTS do you have? It must be version 1.603.

AHA.

It seems that DVD Decrypter wasn't in line with RIPiT4ME because of some of the custom settings I have been using with it (Decrypter) for quite a while.

MY solution was this......

Uninstall/remove all previous versions of RIPIT4ME and get the updated INSTALLER here:
http://www.ripit4me.org/RipIt4Me%20Installer.exe

If you have changed any values under the options/preferences menus in any of the programs make sure you simply revert back to the default settings by hitting default in all programs. (RipIt4Me Version 1.6.4, FixVTS version: 1.6.0.3, DVD Decrypter version: 3.5.4, DVD Shrink version 3.2.0.15)

Additionally, be sure to follow the guide here:
http://www.ripit4me.org/guide.html

After that your work should be a breeze.

I did happen to receive a few errors in DVD Decrypter, but that was primarily because of the large number of dummy cells at the end of the DVD-9 disc (close to 100 cells methinks). I simply "OK'd" past them and let Decrypter continue its work. After, I then removed the dummy cells after porting over to DVD Shrink and blam, all was golden.

I copied saw 3 unrated successfully using VobBlanker 2130Beta4 and blanking auto, running AnyDVD 6.1.1.1 in the backround through the whole process with its default install and burned to disc with Nero recode 2.... plays fine in windoze media 11

entire disc with menus no previews recode gets it to 76% vid quality and ill live with that

The above is my RipIt4Me log -- I ripped it earlier this afternoon. It took me 28 minutes long to successfully completed ripping and processing via FixVTS.

For god sake, this is not a joke - definitely "SAW III: UNRATED EDITION" is not your typical DVD to be ripped and backup... there are freaken 99 VTS? Inevitably, this is NOT a joke at all -- freaken SONY is getting more and more nastier now-a-days.

Despite of all those corrupted vts, sectors, unreferenced cells and especially SONY, RipIt4Me is the winner in the end, and once again it (RipIt4Me) ripped SAW III: UNRATED EDITION flawlessly.

Since I enjoyed SAW III as much as SAW (Part 1), I had to encode with DVD-RB Pro + CCE SP 2.70 via 3 PASSES VBR. All I gotta say is "damn Sony..."

The above is my earlier reply on the other page.

Again, YES.... RipIt4Me does worked 100% flawlessly. However, you must have the latest updated RipIt4Me 1.6.4.0 and FixVTS 1.6.0.3 in order to handle this (SAW 3: UNRATED EDITTION) smoothly.
@alkohol

I used RI4M and FixVTS (I let it process through all the steps) then put it into new Beta Vob Blanker and took out the crap. I'm curious - about DVD-RB Pro (where to get it) and how to use it and what it does and I downloaded CCE SP 2.70 but have not installed it. You are using the trial version correct? I'm tring to use Shrink now but you taught me VOB and now I want new tools to use! (DVD-RB and CCE SP 2.70)

I just found your guide here: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/420923 Anything else outside of the guide that helps?

One more time:
RipIt4Me Version 1.6.4.0.

FixVTS version 1.603
You can also download the RipIt4Me INSTALLER which will set everything correctly for you.
