hey yall. i was wondering if there was anyway to get a faster encoding time, and average encoding time of a dvd for me takes about 7 hours, i did research and i found a thread saying its possible to get it down to 30 minutes.how? i tried doing the thing with the drives and its not set on PIO , its set on "DMA if available" and its still giving me about 7 hours to encode a dvd. im currently running a pentium 3 with 500 or so mghz (pitiful, lol) 128 mg of ram and windows xp proffesional, i ordered a new computer, but its not coming in until christmas, can somebody help me out?how do i encode my dvds faster?

It looks like your on the right track by upgrading your computer. I use a 1.5MHz 512MB memory and it take around 1.4Hr to complete.

RAM and processor both have alot to say about how fast things go. You can get away with less(as you already are), but I would recommend a minimum of 512MB of RAM and no less than 2.0GHz processor.

With your current PC, I don't see alot of hope of speeding things up without spending money. With your new PC coming in less than a month, just hang in there and save your money until it comes.
