Bought 50 silver no name DVD + R blanks from PC Club and so far 70% of them are riddled with errors. Only the drive that burned them will read them. Ordinary players hang up and in some cases won't even get past the first few seconds. A good test for any DVD writer is Easy Money (Rodney Dangerfield and Joe Pesci - 1983) this is one tough movie to copy. You need a CSS decoder plus really decent blanks. I got it right after 8 tries using AnyDVD in front of DVD X Copy Plat 4038 plus a branded R - blank. Even Cloner 2 would not read this one. (So much for built in CSS decoding). My advice is spend a few bucks and get good media and proven decoders in front of proven copy ware.
