MDF to ISO conversion necessary for a quality burn?

Here's the deal... I tried to back up MGS3 using Decrypter. It would not let me burn the ISO file but told me to use the MDF file. I tried it but it DIDN'T work. I tried it again and it DID work?... Is it common to try burning more than once and waste DVDr's or can I avoid wasting DVDr's by converting the MDF to ISO? And by the way I am using Sony DVDr's. And if I should burn ISO instead of MDF what software will convert it so I can burn the ISO? MagicISO?..

i dont think it really matters, i think it depends if the burning app your using is 100% compatible with the mdf/iso

what app are u using?

You mean the .mds file. It's the cuesheet created by DVD Decrypter. You can burn the .mds file with DVD Decrypter.

A .mdf file is something different. It's an image file that can be burned with Alcohol 120%.
