can someone give me step by step instructions on how to burn DVD's includeing what programs u used?

First compress the DVD movie with DVD Shrink (unless you have a dual layer burner) to somewhere on your computer. To preserve quality of the movies while compressing I like to remove the languages that I either don't like or can't understand- spanish, french. After the compressed movie is on your hard drive use ANY data burning program to burn the data to a DVD. (The data folders that you need to burn to the DVD will usually be called Video_TS and Audio_TS).

Have fun with the burning.

What if she wants to burn videos larger than 4.4 gig, the software you advised her to us will only burn small movies

Wrong ... read the guides. DVD Decrypter alone is for dvd's smaller than 4.35GB.

For larger ones you use Shrink ... ya "Shrink" the dvd. Compress it to fit a dvd blank.
