quick ? for burning the PS2 games for NON-ONLINE play

Hey all.

I was reading some posts here to copy PS2 games (cd/dvd games) and I found some threads talking about copying games and then patching them so they will work online.

If I don't care about playing the game online can I just do a straight burn with dvd games using DVD decrypter? I believe one person here said in DVD Decrypter just make an image, then write an image. That's it.

Do I need to worry about patching the games if I'm not going to play them online?
