I recently bought a modded v7 ps2.

The store said it was once of the newer Messiah chips but it doesn't seem to behave like any of the messiah's (old or v2).

To boot a ps2 game (burned or not) from stand by mode (red light) I press reset once.

To boot a ps1 game from stand by mode (red light) I press and hold reset until sony is on screen (couple of seconds).

To boot dvd (imported I believe) from stand by mode (red light) I press reset twice quickly (does not work if I press reset once).

I have not tried playing a non-imported dvd.

The dealer told me to put it into sleep mode I perform a double tap (as in imported dvd). I have not tested the sleep mode with any online games. But if I double tap my burned games don't work (leading me to believe it is in sleep mode?).

These instructions are not consistent with any mod chips instructions I've seen online.

Does anyone know what this model mod chip this could be? I want to test the sleep mod to make sure it works so I can play online games later. Does anyone know how to test sleep mode without actually playing online.

It's booted everytime as long as I follow proper procedure.

I also don't want to take the ps2 apart to see what chip is in it.

Thanks
