Hi, I have a problem with my matrix infinity I just installed. I was hoping you could help me out, please. I have a US PS2 version 9 (date code is 3C with 50001). I followed the diagram on the infinitymod.com carefully, I installed the A and B point on the chip (leg of the chip on top of board like diagram show me), I tried to install G, I, H point there too but it just keep falling off so I leave the A, B points stay intact there and G, I, H points I soldered it on the back (i'm not sure if it's required for those 5 points to go together or can I just do what i did). I use thicker wire for +3.3V and GND, everything else is just normal wire that come with the chip when I bought it. I asked the seller whether it's HOME BREW or Infinity (Auto load), seller said it's the Autoload version not HOME BREW http://www.modchip.ca
Ok, here is the problems. I put in the firmware v1.36 to try to install or upgrade it. I turned off the ps2 then turn it on again and press reset, the firmware disc spin or 1 or 2 seconds then stop then spin again then stop and follow the screen into the browser (nothing was loaded), I went into the browser to check see if the disc is there then it said "disc reading error" and that's for the firmware CD. I put in the other game original and backup, PS1, PS2, they all just load into the main screen of PS2, they all gave me "disc reading error" also does that for the DVD movie too. when I take all the disc out and try to browser normal like checking Memory card/Config and stuff, everything is working like no thing happen but when I put any disc in there (DVD or CD), nothing load, it's just error.
Before everything, the very first turn on after I installed the modchip I put the DVD backup game in the it tried to load then black screenfor almost a minute and nothing happen. when I press reset with the disc in there, it turn on again but then everything on the controller is disable (I can not browser anything). It keep doing that for a few times I reset, after a few times I push reset everything went error like I said above this paragraph. but nothing is disable.
I checked out few forums to get help and lots of people mention about Matrix Infinity message or logo or something below the Sony/Playstation 2 logo, it didn't display anything on my system.
So basicly, all disc (PS2/PS1, backup/original, firmware) I put in there have "error reading disc".
PS: All the backup and original disc (DVD/CD) is working fine with my old modded system (Magic v3.0). This system is another one (never opened or modded before), I gave my friend the old one with Magic 3.0.
I hope you can understanding what i'm saying, sorry for my bad english.

Sounds like you probably got the homebrew version, try this.
"What you have to do is burn the firmware to a cd-r and then insert it into your cd tray. Now put your ps2 on standby. After you do that press and hold the reset button until the blue light turns on. The cd should now boot. I know what you mean that ur ps2 cant read disks right now but the firmware should be read."

Well. i think i just broke my ps2, this time the only light that come up is the
red light on the reset button, disc tray wont eject, green light wont stay on.
But i just bought another ps2 system v7.
I have this question regarding whether it's Infinity Home Brew or not. What is
the different between Home Brew and Infinity (Autoload)? Is it Home Brew is just
Infinity (Autoload) but without the firmware installed in there (blank chip), am
I right?
I know that to determine whether it's Home Brew or not is looking at the loading
page whether it has matrix infinity logo/text or not but if it's a Infinity (not
Home Brew), where the infinity info display? Is it when I just press reset
button (no DVD/CD game in the tray), it open the blue screen with dot white
lights flying around or it it when I put the CD/DVD game in and the game boot up
with the black Screen and white Text in the middle say "Playstation 2", is that
when the Matrix Infinity text/logo display?
I want to solder the current chip that broke my old ps2 on the new one but
wonder if the chip could break my ps2 again (is it defect).
Can I make my Home Brew chip to Infinity (autoload)? I bought this chip from
modchip.ca, i asked them if the chip is Home Brew they said it's not Home Brew
version. Could I trust these guy's words?
Please help me out guy, i'm really new with the kinda chip that can upgrade
firmware, please bare with me.

Homebrew is the same chip as usual infinity, but can only boot homebrew software, elf files etc. It can be flashed to boot back ups.
The infity logo appears when booting a disc, original or back up. Put a DVD in, as it boots and says "Playstation 2" (after swirling lights) "Matrix Ininity v1.x) wil be written underneath it.
Ive never delt with modchip.ca, so I couldnt comment on wether they are trust worthy or not.
