Ive looking for a way to fix two games Ive installed on my HDD via Hdadvance, Star Wars Battle Front, and Goldeneye Rogue Agent. Ive seen many people say that all you need to do is edit the SYSTEM.CNF file and copy it over with winiip.

Nobody gives clear instructions or can offer any information on what exactly Im doing to get it to work I would like to make this work on other games as well, but I need some help figuring out what Im doing first.

This is the only directions I can find, and they are a little vague and I cant get it to work for me, dont really know what programs to copy the disc with or what to rebuild,name ID,disk might have to do with getting this to work.

Directions:

Managed to get Star Wars Battlefront PAL (Known for Black Screen of Death) to work. I noticed that the game itself has it's normal SLES,SLUS,SCES file but also has an ELF file SWBFRONT.ELF.. See where im going......

I simply copied the files on the disc to my hard drive, then using notepad edited the top line of the SYSTEM.CNF to read.. YUP you guessed it..

BOOT2 = cdrom0:\SWBFRONT.ELF;1

Then rebuilt the ISO in nero in no particular order and making sure to rename it "1_01" which was the original name for the disc.The ISO is half the size because you have only made an ISO not ISO/UDF (I think) don't panic though.

Dumped it using HDL_DUMP 0.7.3 with the HD attached to PC using SWBFRONT.ELF as the Disc ID (Instead of SLES/SLUS/SCES_XXXXX)

Loaded it with all modes OFF... nothing...

All modes ON... SUCCESS

This edit worked for me on the NTSC version of SWBF. The same trick also worked for Goldenye Rogue Agent, except you have to edit the SYSTEM.CNF file as follows:

Original

BOOT2 = cdrom0:\SLUS_210.64;1

HD Loader Fix

BOOT2 = cdrom0:\GE2\GE2RDVD.ELF;1

It doesn't matter what you label the disc as in nero, just as long as the SYSTEM.CNF file looks like that. I didn't try burning it either, I just used WinHIIP 1.6.3 to move the image to my HDD. Make sure you also set this game to Mode 3 in order for it to work.
