i am new to modding my ps2. just got hdloader working right. for my backup games and dvds, i understand i'm going to need a modchip or flip top. i don't want to risk my ps2 by soldering a modchip, so i was going to go with flip top... that is unless someone has an idea where to get a no solder modchip for a ps2 v9????
help if you can

Jaystarr1, there is no solderless modchip. All modchips have to be soldered. Believe me, I tried
to mod my PS2 V9, I even bought the chip, but aborted
the operation. It was to risky. One wrong move and you PS2 is garbege. You need some professional installation, which Ill get this weekend or ill order
the Magic Swap 3.3 with the flip top. So batter go with the flip top if you dont get the chip pro. installed.

You cant play any roms on the PS2. The only roms that the PS2 will play would be PSX/PS2 games or isos. Youll have to find an emulator for playing this roms on the PC.

oh. guess that answers that. thanks.
you can play nes roms on xbox though, right?
now i also heard that there were not any good ps2 emulators and so, ps2 roms don't play good on ps2 after you put them on disc, do you know if that's true or not?

I dont think so. Nes roms wont work on the Xbox, but dont take my word for it. The PS2 roms or isos will work exactly the same as the original copies of the game, as long as you burn it correctly.

p.s. i've seen the nes roms played on xbox, so i was hoping it was possible to do the same with ps2

That would be Piracy which I think is not aloud in here at AfterDawn.com But i cant give you them somewhere else but not here.
youll need a dvd burner if you want to burn PS2 DVD games. ( Some PS2 games are on CD discs, so youll have to have a CD burner, which i think everybody has). a
good program to burn this PS2 games would be DVD Decrypter which you can download here http://www.dvddecrypter.com/. All PS2 games need to be in ISO format Or somekind of an Image in order to burn it. And youll have to hace some DVDs. Youll have to butn with the lowest speed. A good speed would be 2x
