I've burnt over at least 20 decent working backups, and have a patched version on HDLoader, however my PS2 is ver.4 (3 years old) and has difficulty reading CD's but works fine with DVD's I am using Swap Magic 3, I tried burning HDLoader to a DVD the same way I do with Games, with nero and Alcohol 120% but both times the screen just gose pink (DRE) around the screen, dose any one know if it is possible to load it on DVD?

suprnova (google it) has HDLoader patched, it dose have Swap Magic though i think its just the cd version, also you need either a mod chip or the original pressed version of swap magic for it to work or Action Replay to boot the backup, then you need a swipe card or find out how to use the knife trick.

http://suprnova.org/ dose not require regisstration, and some time the server maybe down or going slow, just wait about an hour or so and try again.

No, SM will work too.... But you need CD/DVD Loader also... It won't boot with SM disc's alone...

Search google for "EurAsia nu". Go to the top listing. You'll have to sign-up, but it's worth it....

Megadeth, thanks for the link to the instructions. I find that the DVD HDLoader boots flawlessly everytime, while the CD version takes a few times to boot.

No problem....
If you use the exploit version on your memcard, it will help save wear and tear on your PS2 laser.

Megadeth for the mem card to boot you need a ps1 disk, is there any for PS2 disks? 'cos the PS1 disk is a CD not a dvd, and my laser just refuses to read cd's theres likes a 1/100 chance that it will actually read the CD.

Well, even the exploit version will have to spin up and read the PS1 cd no? And the DVD HDLoader appears to stop spinning after load, unlike the CD version, that seem about right?

The exploit only needs to read the SLUS_XXX.XX number off of the PS1 disc, after that the disc will stop spinning.

Try a laser disc cleaner, because it only works with a PS1 disc.

Tried everything mate (belive me everything!), I guessing that the laser it beging to burn out, or it could do with the voltage or somert like that from what I have read.
Is there anyway other than from having a mod chip of editing the boot up of the PS2 to have an option to load the HDLOADER(.elf)?

You couldn't get it to boot from Dvdloader?
You can buy the pressed HDAdvance or HD Loader. It comes with a CD and DVD.

It dose boot from DVD, just that it takes like 3 minutes to boot the game; to load swap magic -> DVDLoader -> change the cd back to swap magic -> switch the game with the swipe card. And my PS2 can't read CD's so I'm trying to find an easier way to boot it.

The only other thing I can think of is running elf files off of AR MAX Evo's pen drive, from the media player. But that's on a CD also.
