im using azureus and forwarded my ports on my linksys router and on the windows xp firewall, but i still dont get fast downloads. what can b da problem?

I had like 10 kb/s when i first used bt now i get 150kb/s get BitTornado with port 6881-6999 dsl/cable fast upload rate 20 max uploads 4 and download something for like whole day after that day urs will be same as mine and use tracker www.torrentbits.org it got more seeds!

if im going to use ports 6881-6999, do i have to open those ports on my router as well as windows xp firewall? or can i juss turn off da firewall without having to open the ports?

Just turn off the firewall and get norton personal firewall for free by bitorrent norton personal firewall doesnt block ports sothere should be no problems!

i have verizon dsl, pentium 4 3.40ghz, and 512mb of ram. im d/l at 20kb/s n i've been d/l for 1 hour and 20min. it should go faster right?

yes it should and ur net speed and computer is perfeclty fine all you need is some time and register on www.torrentbits.org and download stuff from there its faster!

Hey ugiim, I might get bittornado and take your advice. When you say 20 max 4 uploads, do you mean I have to make 4 uploads, or what. I know I really should see what you mean, but I don't, so help will be much appreciated. Also my connection is 1mb DSL, will that make a difference in max dl spd? If possible, can you tell me roughly what my max dl speed would be if I used your settings.

Wait the 20max 4 upload is what you have to set BitTornado to isn't it?
Also my comp has a potential 2400mhz amd xp(I need to change the clock spd just cdnt be annoyed) 512mb ddr, with xp sp2 and 1mb dsl. That shd be enuf to handle the program as the original bt client major slows my comp down.
