Talk about frustrated. I could not burn a single disk (DVD-R), even at 2x with the Opto disks if the film was over 1:32. Now the only thing I could come up with was the quality of the disks. I had upgraded the firmware.

To save many of you with this drive much stress and frustration as I have experienced I'll let you in on a nasty little secret. Seems the ONLY reliable media I've been able to burn at 8x WITHOUT FAIL has been the Fujifilm 8x DVD-R's I bought at both Best Buy and online. The price has dropped significantly and having burned so many Optodisk coasters, I'll never use anything else with this drive.

Just thought I'd save you guys the frustration I experienced. The OptoDisks are now relegated to projects that are less than 90 minutes in length, otherwise they are worthless.

This forum has helped me immeasurably. Just thought I'd try to provide my experience.
