Ok, so i'll admit i'm a newbie right now. I had a load of AVI files that i couldnt play, audio, but no video, so a codec problem as usual. I could not work out what the hell these things were, so i downloaded the ACEMCP codec thinggy as suggested in a load of places. This didnt actually fix it (turns out they were Divx 5.0.2)but it did make every other video of ANY format played in media player split diagonally down the middle shifting each half off the screen in a "badly tuned TV" style way giving me two half pictures and a nice black bar. It only happens when i try and scale the video or play it full screen. Given how low res most videos are encoded this is making watching them a little hard, and i'm getting sick of droppign back to 640x480 every time i want to watch any video files and STILL not getting full screen.

Any ideas anyone?
