Hi all,

I have a Samsung 16X dual layer, and this was burning fin at 8X until a few disks ago. It now fails at 37% on each 8X disk, but burns fine on 4X.

Error thrown below: is this a buffer underrun or something?

OK, and your question is . . . . ? ?

Sure, as you already know, you can burn at 8X and, when the discs come out, you'll be able to burn at 16X. What's your problem ? You go fast, you miss stuff, you get coasters, maybe fewer coasters if you use something like Taiyo Yuden's top grade stuff at $2.00 + per disc OR even Verbatim DataLife Plus at somewhere around $1.49 each.

You don't want coasters, burn at 4X - as you already stated -

And yet I repeat myself, your question is . . . . ? ?
