Locked Harddrive?

Hi, i have the new type xbox's with the philips dvd drive. And to make a long story short, i was "softmodding" my xbox, and in order for hdd-driver to read my harddrive, i needed to changed FATX to NULL in the raw backup, and then send it back. Whilst looking through after doing this, a power surged striked, and my harddrive reads, but now the dashbaord won't load on it... (guessing that it is because it is because FATX is still NULL), so now since it won't load on the computer (guessing again that it's locked), i need to unlock the drive. But in order to do this, i need to load slayer on a cd-r and boot from that. The problem is, no matter what cd-r i use (in my house), i get a error 16. I've tried memorex, sony, and verbatim. Is there a specific cd i need? eheh, i just really want to get my xbox back to normal, and if worst comes to worst, can i format it and re-install all the original xbox dashboards?
