REALLY weird problem on playing certain DVD on widescreen TV

Hi all,

I have some weird problem with watching DVD on my TV and DVD player and I hope that anyone can help me out.

I have the following setup:
1. TV: Toshiba 46H84
- 46" Rear Projection HDTV Monitor
- Progressive Scan
- Wide-screen

2. DVD Player: Panasonic DV-37
- Region-free
- Progressive Scan

The problems I am having are as follow:
1. When connected via "Component" cable:
- Some DVD movie is shown SHIFTED downwards on the TV. So in a 16:9 mode, the bottom "black-box" is not shown but the top "black-box" is shown more. Furthermore, in the "Menu" screen of the DVD, the most bottom selection is not shown.

2. When connected vie "S-Video" cable:
- The same DVD that are having problem above is now shown in BLACK and WHITE.

The problem appears in random DVD, it seems. Copies, original, etc. I tried swapping cable, change the TV and DVD settings (Natural screen, Full Screen, 4:3, etc.) but to no avail.

HOWEVER, if the same problematics DVD movies is played in my computer using PowerDVD, no problem whatsoever.

Anybody ever experienced this type of problem?
