I looked at the compatibility list on hdandvance.com and I was wondering if a different hdd would work. I was looking at a MAXTOR DIAMONDMAX PLUS 9

200GB SATA HARD DRIVE NEW OEM Sealed

Maximum Capacity of 200.0 GB
SATA /150 Model
9.3 ms Average Seek Time
8MB Cache Buffer
FDB Motors
7200 RPM
(on e-bay), but the only maxtor hdd with 200GB on hda.com was a diamondmax Plus 10, would this one still work??

Yes, but it's not SATA. SATA drives will not work in the PS2

yes, ata hard drives are ide hard drives and are compatible....sata hard drives do not run off the standard ide cables so you wouldn't even be able to connect it to your network adapter.
