Hey i had a few questions about connecting my pc to my tv. My video card has s-video out and i understand the audio issue. Currently i ahve a non hdtv television

I heard that you can't use a non HDTV television as a monitor for your pc is this true?

What i am planning to do is to install a tv tuner card into my pc and get a remote for it and Beyond tv 3 so i could record tv shows, but i wanted to do it with my tv as my moniter so i could playback directly onto my tv and veiw tv through my pc and i wanted to know whether i needed to get a new HDTV before i could do it or if my older one will work. THanks a ton for the help. i really appreicate any comment at all.
