OK, i just installed a flip top on a v9/10 ps2 and i can't get it to play the games. I have tried it on 2 different v9's with the same results. i have a v7 w/ the grmods chip and the games work fine there. the basic problem is that the swap magic disc loads, tells me to swap the discs, and then the backup just won't load. It will sort of start and stop spinning over and over again. After several minutes, the red border comes on the screen and thats all. Occasionally, I will get the games to load but that's only like 1 out of 10 tries. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance...

Ok these are the questions that everyoe will ask you. What media are you using? What speed are you burning the discs at?

Depending on those things, depends on if the discs will work or not, most of the time. So say your using DVD+R, it may work with your V7 PS2, but the V9 systems won't recognize them. The standard type of disc is DVD-R.

ive tried both +r and -r, and neither one will work. I've used all kinds of different media, ritek, memorex, tdk, etc, all of which work in my v7. Burn speed is anywhere between 2-4x. Again, all these games work in my v7, but won't spin in the v9's. So, +R media won't work in the newer ps2's?

Not necessarily, there are some PS2s that will read the +Rs, and some that won't. But your problems sounds a little more complicated than faulty media or burn speeds. Sounds more technical. Try checking the internals on your PS2, clean the laser, check for blown fuses, stuff like that. That's the only thing i can think of. :(
