Putting orginal MS Dash on new HDD

I will be recieving my Xecutor modchip in the next couple days. I am going to be putting a 120 Gb HDD in along with it. I know all about flashing the chip and formatting the drive along with putting Evolution X dash on. My question is that i herd that you can take the orginal MS Dash from the stock HDD and put it onto the new HDD so when you have the chip disabled it will boot with the orginal dash (like there isnt even a chip in it) if any one else has herd of this can you please point me in the right direction. Thanks.
