I have a brand new NEC 3500A 16x drive, but Nero only shows 2x and 4x as burning options. I'm using Ritek 8x media. I don't really care about speeds higher than 4x for backup, but I'm completely perplexed about why I'm not even given the option. Any ideas? Do I have to do something to configure the drive? Any help would be appreciated.

I had the same problem. I updated the firmware and all is well at 8x
