VHS to DVD using DVD recorder or Canopus ?

Hi all

I have been trying to transfer my family videos to dvd.

I have a hollywood bridge and results are so so.

I'm debating between a DVD reorder and a Canopus adv 100.

Just wondered if i'm better of going VCR to DVD reorder or should i get the Canopus

What are the pros and cons of both

Any help would be most appreciated
