HD Advance Hard Drive needs formatting

I am a newbie so bare with me.

My setup is as follows:
PS2 + Network Adapter + 80Gb Hard Drive
HdAdvance 2

The setup works fine to copy PS2 games from the PS2 DVD to the HD, using HDAdvance.

However, I have a couple of ISO images on my PC, so I took my HD out of my PS2 and put it in my PC. I used WinHIIP 6 to transfer the images, all seemed to go OK.

However when I put the HD back into my PS2 HDAdvance said the HD needing formatting. I have tried formatting the PS2 using HDAdvance and then transfering the ISO images and have tried using WinHIIP to format the HD and then transfer the images.

But I HDAdvance keeps wanting to format the drive.

Any ideas?
