I started off using ABC. Downloads were slow most of the time except once, I was able to stay connected to someone who fed me about 160kb/s. Combined with others, I was getting about 200-300kb/s of DL. After seeing this, I know my connection can get faster then what I am currently getting which is on average of 30kb/s. I switched over to Azureus, I liked this better b/c I am new to BT transfers and this has so many graphics and what not, I felt that I could educate myself a littler better.
I am on cable and have a Linksys router. I have gotten the port all set up (Azureus only allows one) and my DL are green. I was downloading a 2.7g file and I kept note over the course of the DL. I was able to connect to 100 users (Seeds + Peers) and I got over 95% of my data from peers. My max download rate was just over 120kb/s but averaged out to be around 35kb/s. When I checked further, I saw that out of the 100 seeds/peers I was connected to, I was usually only able to download from about three on average.
Now, correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the advantage of using BT was that everyone shares with everyone. However, this doesn't seem to be the case for me. I was only getting about 3% sharing.
Could someone explain to me why I cannont connect to most of the seeds/peers? I know why my connection is slow, it's b/c I am not connecting to all the peers/seeds that are available to me. What is the advantage of being a seed after you get the full file if only 5% of your data came from seeds while you were dling? I have searched for days and googled everything but I can't find any answers to this. I see a lot of articles about "slow DL" and "setting up ports in your router" but I know why my DL is slow. My question is, why am I not able to connect to these seeds and peers? Thanks in advance

Okay, I set my connection to have a max upload of 40kb/s. What I have noticed since this is that my overall download drops to about 20kb/s from 30kb/s but I am able to DL from more users at once. The two seeds I am connected to though still don't want to give me any DL.
