I've been trying to make a working backup of EA's Battle for Middle Earth (dvd-rom version) and so far have been unsucessful. I have tried Alcohol 120, Blindwrite 5, and even a combination of the two, but all I've ended up with is a dvd-rw coaster. I was however able to burn a copy on to a dvd+r disc that will setup the game but won't play off of it, giving me an "insert the correct disc" message whenever I try. I'm fairly new at the whole copying business so if anyone has any suggestions/answers that might work I'd greatly appreciate it!

Might I add that I have a Liteon 4X-+R/2X-RW DVD drive (and don't ask more cause thats all I know about it!), and upon running A-Ray scanner the game was suspected to have Safedisc 2/3 protection.

Im curious to know this also since I bought this game (dvd-rom version).

I never had a dvd version of any pc game so I think this will be interesting, and Ive never looked into how this is done with a dvd-rom based game.

The sad thing is I can't back this game up until after Christmas since its a present :(

So I will reserect this thread if no one has figured it out...but after Christmas :)

I realized that since I made a copy using Blindwrite 5 with tweaker that sets the game up, all I need now is a no-cd fix, so if anyone has this file, I'd appreciate a message!

@ jebus05

Let's have a look at the forum rules. Linking to cracks will get you deactivated.

I've heard rumors that this title is protected by SafeDisc 4.0. Until that's confirmed the best bets will be the software and methods used for SD 3.20.022 used by Doom 3 and Sims 2.

The newer SafeDisc DVD titles present a unique problem in the fact that A120 doesn't support burning images to DVD and BlindWrite5 - that can burn to DVD - isn't very good at SD 3.20.022.

I've personally had success using both A120 and BW 4.57 but that isn't much help in this situation.

got it.
thank you...

For all of you out there... Try "DAEMON Tools v3.47" will do the job also for mounting the alcohol image (if it's your case) and bypass the protection.

good luck

I edited it. We try to steer clear of discussing cracks here (except mine because it's so sexy).

To use the pm function just look for the little icon at the top right of every post that looks like this ----->

Hiya vongster and welcome to AD :)

What software and methods did you use to make your copy?

What read/write speeds did you use?

What make/model burner did you use?
