PAL HD Advance 2 displays in B&W HEEELLPPP

Hi,

I've just bought a new PAL PS2 and installed HD Advance 2 PAL (definitely PAL) but the display on the TV of HD Advance is black and white... The games convert onto the Maxtor hard drive and work fine (in PAL colour) but I just can't understand what's going on... It's no BIG deal except that navigating through HD Advance in B&W is quite tricky as you can't see exactly where you are and what's highlighted.

It definitely has PAL printed on the HD Advance discs and on the TV display when running HD Advance 2 and the PS2 is definitely PAL and my TV is PAL?????

If anyone has any ideas I'd be really really grateful.
