No audio Graph but Codecs Installed! Help!

Recently I have had a problem with a couple of avi files which playback without sound. Each has been XVid with MP3. Running Gspot on them it confirms that I have Codecs for the audio stream but then cannot render them.

I have the Fraunhoffer l3codecx, Radium l3codecp and ffshow.ax codecs installed. For the first two GSpot reports that it cannot connect the output pin on AVI Splitter to the input pin of the filter due to an invalid media type. For the ffshow codec it cannot connect due to there being no common media type.

I'm thoroughly stuck and any help would be appreciatted.
