Network Adapter Problem

I just recently got a network adapter, but i get this error at the dnd auth. "error -402", even though i'm using the orginal game. I tried 3 games so far and still get the same error.

You cannot go online with original game discs without first turning your modchip off. For a Magic 3.1 you do this by holding the Reset button for 5 seconds to turn on the PS2.

You cannot play online games with your modchip on. That is causing the DNAS failure.

Backups can be played online as long as a unique DNAS ID has been properly patched to the game image prior to burning, however, if you attempt to play online with your modchip on a DNAS failure will result.

That is correct. Most people here use Swap Magic to play online backups. You might try waiting 5 minutes after booting the backup before connecting to the server. Some modchips put themselves into sleep mode by this time if they support it.

I tried the adapter at my friends house and he uses dial up. Everything connects well and the game speed is pretty good but often while playing a message appears saying "u lost connection to the host" and it disconnects and goes back to the game's lobby. This happens for all the games i've tried like madden 2005, THUG2 and fifa2005. Any ideas?
