Hi everyone, I am trying to change max speed on dvd decrypter to 2.4x or 2x because as soon as I reach 4x or higher burning speed dvd decrypter stops encoding at around 13% probably because my cpu can't take that load. I have sony dru-700 dvd writer and a dell inspiron pentium 3 with 600 mhz cpu and 192 mb of ram. Anyone know why I can't burn at 4x? I am using sony dvd-r media 4x. Also when i do try to change max speed under dvd decrypter to 2.4 or 4x, it just says changing speed and stalls at that point. How long do I have to wait? Thanks.
Your PC cannot transfer information that quickly. In order to burn with your PC, you'll need to turn off every application you have running. If you have XP as your OS, then go to msconfig - startup- disable all- apply, OK then OK to reboot. If you have another OS, leave only exployer, systray and my computer on, everything else off. You don't even have the resources to type in word. Screensavers off, all virus proggys, off. Not a single thing on !
To adjust write speed in DVD Decrypter, go to tools, settings then toward the lower right you will see "write speed". Change it to 2.4X OR even 1X in order for your burn to go through. Once the burn has started, do not interupt the PC for any reason. Eventually, it will be done .

My guess is that it will take you from 7 to 10 hours to backup a DVD - during which time you cannot touch your PC or else all will stop and your PC may "crash" from lack of resources.
