Just rented a new release and burned it using Shrink and NERO - several times during the 1st hour of the burned copy it would stop and restart and sometimes it would skip portions and then continue. any thoughts oh why this happenes ??

Hello dbros9,probably poor media. Does your pc play that backup ok? Those are the classic syptoms of a media issue.The quality of that media is magnefied by the typical stand alone player.Your stand alone does not like that media.What media are you using,burner model,speed you are burning, and all programs you are using in this process? These will help solve this issue. Later

media im using is TDK and Spin-X basically the cheap stuff from Staples- any reccommendations on the best media to use ??

Hey dbros9,here is a great free program to check that media out with: http://www.dvdinfopro.com Check this site out after infopro tells you the code on those discs: http://digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm <put digital faq on as your favorites>. These 2 links are very handy to find the right media that your pc and standalones crave. Stick with the 1st and 2nd class media and should help on a lot of problems. Btw, I just got some staples teon +4, they checked out as ricojpn01.2nd class media. The same teon -4 were cmags. Quite a big quality variance between both.Later
