San Andreas backup, saved games don't work on original?!?!?

Because I am not that carefull with my original ps2 discs, I make a backup, just in case the original gets too fucked up with scratches and stuff.
And so I did with San Andreas, made a backup before I started playing with it, checked if it worked, and it did. So a couple days later I started playing, and now I have about 20 hours in it, when I noticed I still had the backup disc in there. Anyway, not really a problem, but I played another game, and when I wanted to play San Andreas again, I put in the original, and wtf, the saved games I made on the backup don't load on the original!??!?!? Now that sux, I mean, I can play on the backup, but I'll never be able to load them on the original?!!? any1 know why that is?

i have used saved files from a backup copy and used on a original no problem with sa
