TS-POT is not an extension... its a TeleSync POT release of the movie... i never had any torrents save a file like *.ts-pot... if there dvd rips then most of the time the extension is *.AVI... but telesync's usually are in a vcd/svcd image format like iso or bin. Try renaming it to one of those image extensions and opening it with ISOBuster.

Cool. After I extracted them, they became 2 bin files :D

Hi,

I've also downloaded a bunch of movies that are TS-POT. I eventually get a bin file.... BUT will not decode and run them using anything I've got. GSPT says it is a MEPG-1 encoded using TMPGEnc v2.521.58

but when I try to render keep getting on ALL my normal codecs this error msg
"Failed ot connect OutPut pin 0xxxxx on filename.bin to input pin 0xxxxx .. using Fileter 'blah' failed. Error 0x80040207. there is no common media type between these pins.

I've re-loaded the divx codecs .. and I am using WMP 9

Anyone got any ideas?

thx

OK now that you have created this bin file you have 2 choices... first u can just burn the bin to cd using an image burn to get an end result of a VCD or SVCD... or u can open the bin in ISOBuster and go into the mpegav directory and right click on the *.dat file and select extract but filter only M2F2 Mpeg frames and save it as a .mpg

I've had similar issues trying to playback in WMP9 and found the same file plays back just fine in PowerDVD

Another option is to use the 'Test Image' option in CDRWIN5, this will ensure the integrity of the image before you waste a disc by burning it!

Thx to Heybilly...

TS-POT downloads a file that is not yet readable by codecs... the bin is a format to reproduce a VCD/SVCD... So u need something like isobuster to unpack the *.BIN file ...
NOW I have directories and a DAT file that is renderable by the codecs... well by the microsoft quartz.dll one anyway..

Many thx

CDRWIN5 Decodes the bin file to a readable codec, I use it with all my bin files to test them before I burn them.

All of my downloads are then playable as VCD/SVCD on a domestic DVD Player.

If you don't use it already, try the following link http://www.packetnews.com/search.php?type=0&kw=cdrwin+5

Thx Again,

Also figured .. as it's just a bin/iso... can use Alcohol 120%.

Anyway it's done.

AND... VCD or mpeg1 is really poor quality compared to the newer mpeg4... AND you can now buy DVD players that decode most of these... look on ebay for "divx mpg4" or mpeg4... ther are a bunch of them... and it is great quality for such a small file...

cheers
